Andy entered the Alan Healy Memorial Rally last weekend, as a preparatory event to the French Rallye de la Lys in April. His last visit to France, earlier in March, ended 300 yards before the finish line of the first Stage.

“Gutted, the throttle motor failed - which is really uncommon, so it’s not something we have on the van” said Andy.

Repaired, recently fitted with European tarmac specification Reiger dampers and sporting fresh “Works Martini” livery the Ford Focus World Rally car was transported to a very wet Cadwell Park.

On arrival at the circuit, it was noted the softer, more satisfactory, anti-roll bars were left at the workshop...

Enthusiastically co-driven this time by Johnny Vance, the pair set off to test the car and enjoy the event with the less than suitable set-up. Luckily towards the end of the event the rain stopped and the
tarmac began to dry.

Less lairy, with the car more suited to the drying conditions, Andy attacked the final stage and managed to grab second place overall.

The car ran faultlessly throughout the event, putting the team in good shape for the Rallye de la Lys.

A real favourite for Andy and the Team, the rally begins at historic Saint-Venant, northern France during the 24th, 25th and 26th April covering 92 competitive stage miles.
